I need to share my experience with The Smile Method, Trusted Smiles, Kover Dental Care – all three of the names they went by in the time I saw them from 2009-2020. Red flag? Perhaps. Read on.

When I first started seeing Dr. Kover in 2009 I was nervous because I hadn’t been to a dentist in about 5 years. He said I had zero cavities and my teeth were in good shape. Great! Over the years I had my regular 6 month cleanings, same thing – no cavities, everything looks good, etc. I did get fitted for a bite guard sometime in 2010 I believe, and their staff and everyone was very professional and helped work out a payment plan with me on the bite guard.

Over the last couple years, I started to feel like something was missing. Visits started to feel rushed, I stopped getting thorough feedback from the dentist and staff, and they stopped giving out toothbrushes. Which I know is a small thing but I thought it was kind of strange. Then during Covid, things really changed. Everyone just seemed so depressed and only talked about the bad stuff that was going on. Which I know, pandemic and everything but they used to be such a fun group, it felt like going to hang out with my friends rather than going to the dentist. During 2019-2020 was when I REALLY felt like I was being rushed out of the office after my cleanings. I timed one visit I was literally there only 15mins. For a cleaning. During one of my X-rays, he said there was one area he was concerned and keeping an eye on, and then during the next X-rays when I asked about the area he was concerned about he said “no, it’s fine now.”

So that was it, December 2020 was my last cleaning there and I decided to go to a different dentist closer to home. Come June 2021, new dentist office tells me I have NINE CAVITIES!!! I KNOW they didn’t just appear over the last 6 months since my last visit with Dr. Kover. I am not sure why he neglected to tell me I had cavities, but now I get to deal with going to a bunch of appointments and spending a bunch of money on fillings that could’ve been done years ago.

In a nutshell, with their practice name changing 3 times in 11 years, feeling rushed during cleanings, and not being told I had any cavities that whole time, really makes me wonder if Dr. Kover is paying as close attention as he needs to be to his patients.

If you made it this far, thanks for reading.

My wife referred me to this office & this was my first visit. From the outset I was impressed with the warmth & concern from Jeffrey, my first contact, who provided all the necessary forms & communicated with my insurance company. Next, I met Cole the technician who performed all necessary x-rays & further inquired about my dental situation & current needs. Lastly, I was examined by Dr. Kover who completed a thorough cleaning & asked detailed questions regarding my dental needs & answered all of my questions. All three of these professionals were personable, friendly & reassuring. They made my visit a pleasant experience & I will be returning for ongoing care. I highly recommend this dental practice.
First off Jeff at the front desk is great as can be, he is very personable of my name and takes an interest on how my day is going and gets me seen within minutes of me being there. Second, I’m always greeted by Cole and he is so great with making me feel so comfortable when i visit, telling me everything and all possibilitys of what is going to take place during my visit. Third, Doctor Kover is amazing at what he does. Never short on info and skills. All the pre work is astonishing seeing i didnt feel a thing save a little pressure, and you will find pain is so hard to come by in that office. I cant wait to see the ending Smile that these Gents create for me!
