On May 16th, I received a call from the center manager and medical director following my recent review. During our discussion, the center manager stated they would consult with the doctor again and get back to me within one to two days. This follow-up never occurred. Additionally, I sent an email but received no response. If this is the standard set by the managers, what can we expect from the rest of the staff? This lack of professionalism is the main issue.

According to the medical director, Dr. Mohammad Shoaib claimed that the CBCT scan was unclear, which was used as an excuse for not presenting the medical report. This statement is untrue. If the scan was unclear, we should have been informed so we could provide another report. A competent doctor does not need three months to communicate such a straightforward issue.

We followed up with the receptionist repeatedly during these months and asked her to check with the doctor about the report. Each time, he said he was looking into it. You might as well check all the recorded calls. He never mentioned anything about the scan being unclear, which proves it was just an excuse and essentially a lie.

As I previously mentioned in my review, it appears that Dr. Mohammad Shoaib cannot handle complicated cases. I strongly advise against seeking his services, as he only wastes your time.

They also informed me that the consultation fee is non-refundable, which is understandable. We are now consulting other doctors and they are requesting a new CBCT scan. The delay was caused by you, and I will not be paying for another scan. You must take responsibility and compensate us for the wasted time by providing a CBCT scan at your expense or refund us the amount we paid.

My mother’s condition has worsened during this time due to the doctor’s negligence and lack of respect, affecting her psychologically.

I am certain you are aware of your fault, but you refuse to admit your mistake, which is why you never called back after consulting with the doctor.

I recommend that Dr. Mohammad Shoaib take communication courses to learn how to respect and properly interact with patients. He should also learn to communicate directly and honestly, admitting when a case is beyond his expertise and apologizing for not being able to handle it.

I would recommend the same for the receptionist who repeatedly promised to follow up and call us back, but we were the ones who had to keep calling her. Please ensure your staff are well-trained before placing them in such positions, as effective communication is crucial.

We will not remain silent about the disrespect and negligence you have shown. My previous statement still stands: either provide the scan at your expense or refund us the amount in cash.

Kindly call me back and provide an update before this situation escalates further.

Update as of June 5th, 2024.

We have just returned from the hospital, where we met with the medical director and the center manager. They refused to acknowledge their mistake and declined both a new CBCT scan and a refund. The primary issue stemmed from the receptionist. Despite the nurse informing her to contact us regarding the unclear scan, she failed to do so. When we confronted her in person, she falsely claimed she had informed us. She contradicted herself by stating we didn’t give her a chance to inform us due to our anger over the phone, which only highlights her dishonesty. Despite this, the receptionist refused to apologize and abruptly ended the conversation when the doctor intervened.

Additionally, she incorrectly stated that we contacted her only 3 to 4 times, despite our consistent follow-ups for three months. It is evident that the hospital staff lacks the professionalism to properly apologize to patients. Ultimately, we do not recommend this hospital or its doctors. However, if you consulted Dr. Mohammad Shoaib and experienced miscommunication, be aware that it was due to the receptionist’s mistake.

This is the worst hospital we have ever encountered. In all my life, I have never seen such unprofessional staff. They attempt to cover their mistakes with lies, which is truly shameful. It’s astonishing that in 2024, in an advanced country, a hospital like this still exists.

Thumbay medical and dental hospital in muweileh national paints is one of the best hospital in this area. I have been visiting here for the past 8 years, me and my family of 5 having been treated by different doctors time to time, I have moved from this area to M.commercial but still I can’t think of visiting any other hospital.. They have very experienced doctors such as Dr. Shoaib, Dr. Sarkar, Dr. Shama, Dr. Nathan, Dr. Sudha, Dr. Ashok, Dr kumari and others. As a regular visiting family we know all of them, very warm and friendly always. Special mention to the nursing and admin staff who are always there to help and take immediate assurance.

If I am not wrong thumbay gives the best prices in medical facilities, During corona time they were charging a very nominal fee for corona tests.

I think the management needs to also look into university branch where most of the time specialist doctors are not available.
