Reviews:
This office was my family dentist when I was young, and instead of treating a nervous child with empathy, I was treated as a nuisance. Instead of allaying my fears and possibly making the dentist experience better for all parties, I was instructed to “stop screaming” and crying because “I was scaring the other kids in the waiting room”.
As I got older, my mother took me to her old orthodontist because she knew I would need orthodontics based on her teeth and my father’s. At my next cleaning, Ayers learned I had visited the orthodontist and offered to do the work himself. Thankfully my mother felt more confident in her old orthodontist to do the headgear and braces, however I was a late bloomer so I needed baby teeth removed before the braces could start.
As a result of that consultation, it was decided that would have all seven baby teeth removed over the course of two days. Three the first day, four the next. For a young person who blanched at a mere cleaning, this was possibly the scariest moment of my life and I had hoped that this different procedure would garner me a small amount of bedside manner.
That was unfortunately not the case. Every time I visited this dentist office it was like a nightmare where you try to tell but no one can hear you. I will never forget the day when he pulled the last of the baby teeth, and matter of factly said
“By the way, the root’s not totally frozen on this one.”
And ripped.
