Reviews:
I was with this dentist for over 25 year
I never put a bad review on any review web site but I feel there are issues within the day to day running of this surgery
In the last 7 years i have found the level of service below standard as to what I had with the previous owners
I respect we had COVID but this cannot be blamed for the level of service and communication within the surgery and communication to myself
I required some dental work to be done unless I paid the work to be done privately I could not get a appointment for 3 /6 months
if I paid privately I could get appointment within a week

I requested email estimates one going private and one waiting for nhs appointment
exact same work using the same filling and the same work was 3 times higher
NHS cost 49 going private 150 ?
I Was then given a brochure on a health care policy to pay 25.pmonth from which I can claim back certain
Costs the policy didn’t cover the cost of a filling
After discussing the policy with the dentist
I felt the policy was not suitable for me
The staff seem to be instructed from the owners or management to push the private appointments as I was asked 4times to go private and once going with nhs appointment
When I was asked to go private and when I declined going private I was asked to sign a declaration to remove myself from nhs registration and find a new dentist
Is this the way to treat a patient over 25 years registered
I refused to sign and remove my name from nhs registration as I had been on the nhs register for dental treatment for over 50 years
I then requested my dental records
Which I was entitled to ask for which is free of charge
6 weeks later after several phone calls and emails
I finally got them
This gave me a accurate account of all conversations I have had over the last 7 years with staff and my dentist
This is no way is disrespectful to any of the reception staff but I believe it’s down to the owners and management of the day to day running of the surgery
To say I was disappointed on the misinformation and inaccuracy on the records is a understatement as I have never had complaints or made any complaints previously in all the years registered
I have now registered on the nhs with another dentist and moved my records
And what a difference in level of service attitude ,professionalism and accurate communication
It is like night and day
Carntyne dental care is only interested in making money it’s no longer serving the community from which the original surgery
foundations were based on which was to serve the community in the east end whatever your class or ethnicity
This management /owners of the surgery gave me the impression the people in the east end are there to serve the surgery not the other way round
I was instructed from one of the owners that they will still offer nhs appointments but the appointments are limited due to staffing levels which I do understand but the owner feels long term the surgery will be offering a lot more private appointments due to the cut backs in budget from the nhs which I also understand
I also believe the same owners have one in tollcross tollcross road
I would give some advice if anyone feels that you are not getting the level of service or good level of care then you are entitled to request your dental records from the surgery free of charge
This will give you a detailed idea as to why and give a good historical detailed record on all communication
After phoning around the east end dental surgeries there are still dentists giving appointments for new nhs patients to register with them
I have just read the reply from owners many thanks
It is apparently obvious
This is a generic automated reply
Again blaming everything on others including COVID on the level of service and not giving accurate answers to detailed questions
Typical blah blah protocol
Amazing I got a reply within 1hour on a Saturday out of hours when I put a review on but despite numerous calls to speak to you and numerous emails when I was a patient in your surgery trying to get answers it took 6 weeks
Unbelievable

Very disappointed with the overall experience I received at this dental surgery. The service from the dentist was great, very friendly and professional. However, I was under the impression that I was an NHS patient – which I emailed to confirm prior to making this appointment and was emailed back by the manager confirming I was.

It was then explained to me that actually I wasn’t (even though both my partner and I registered together and he is an NHS patient). I was charged for a check up and quoted for future treatment. At 36 weeks pregnant I felt really disappointed in this as pregnant clients are entitled to free treatment, especially after being told I was registered. Unfortunately, they don’t seem to be taking on NHS patients so I will be registering with another local dentist who are.

Worst place..Only intention is to extract money from patients with no attention to cure.First they said for registration they will charge 55 and then only they can see me.After that they said they need an Xray(they use very old and painful method of X-ray)and that will cost 8PS.After the xray they said they cant see the full mouth so i will have to travel to Parkhead branch to get a full Xray done which will again cost 38PS and then go back to the Tollcross branch to have the Xray consulted..I mean seriously???
On top of that the lady at the reception has a weird attitude and does not even know what an Invoice is..they take money and does not even provide Invoice for it..Just the bank receipt.Never going back!!
