Reviews:
I used to be a patient at the Pleasant Valley location and had a great experience there. I figured I would just transfer to this Huntsville location. When I first spoke with them they informed me that I would be considered a new patient and would not be able to get an appointment because they no longer accept new patients. I had to contact another location, to be sure that I was able to transfer to other locations. The office manager at the Mobile, AL location had to schedule my appointment for Huntsville because they insisted I was not able to get scheduled with them. I scheduled my first appointment in May they gave me a date in June. They cancelled my appointment & rescheduled me a month later for July 11th. I get to my appointment and they tell me they tried to call me two days prior (on the same day that I spoke with someone & the appointment was confirmed) to once again cancel my appointment. They then tried to schedule me August 15th which is another month out. I’m glad everyone else gets to have a good experience with this location, but customer service is piss poor. No one ever answers the phone and I have updated my number three times just for them to continue to use a number that is not mine. In what world would anyone like to constantly have their appointment canceled and rescheduled weeks out. Please do better because this has been a very frustrating experience. I would not recommend anyone I know to this place.
I have been taking my children here for years and unfortunately the experience has only gotten worse. There are two Dentist that are awesome and patient every time I go. I hate to say I don’t remember their names because the next few things I am writing is not a reflection of them. A lot of them seem to lack patience. One Caucasian male with glasses, a dental assistant literally could not get an X-ray image and I watched as he yelled at my child with developmental issues and through his exhaust he harshly exclaims
“I’m done”. I go back today and he was just as rude. I don’t believe they have the staff to handle different kinds of children. I work with children with developmental disabilities and the dental profession will encounter these types of children too and if they have the attitudes that lack patience and empathy then I wouldn’t recommend for your children to visit with them. Sorry to those who do amazing work but there must be some training on how to serve and hospitality. Also the facility is filthy. I hope my criticism pushes the business in the right direction. As of now I am looking for another pediatric dentist, I don’t believe I can manage to bring my children here any longer.
My kids have been going to Vital Smiles since their very first appointment. They enjoy the friendly hygienists and doctors. We are usually in and out for their cleanings. Recently I switched insurance companies and Ms. Constance was very helpful with calling the company for approval after I brought the wrong insurance cards. She was very patient and discreet about my mistakes. They were even still willing and able to clean my kids’ teeth 30 minutes past our appointment time (due to us trying to figure out the insurance situation). The only thing I’ll say that is a little annoying is having to fill out paperwork for every single routine visit.
