During my brother-in-law’s overseas visit to LA, he suffered prolonged tooth pain. I took the initiative to find a local dentist and recommended Dr. Yury Bershadsky at West Valley Dental. Regrettably, this turned out to be a huge mistake, as I had naively relied on the site’s Google reviews, a decision I now regret.

Following an initial consultation and x-ray, Dr. Bershadsky quoted ~$1,000 for a root canal, to which my brother-in-law agreed. However, midway through the procedure, the doctor unexpectedly changed the price and, when confronted by his wife who was present, had the audacity to demand either payment of the difference or cessation of the procedure he was in the middle of performing. Encountering a doctor who engages in such behavior is disheartening. To compound the situation, my brother-in-law returned to his home country, where another dental professional examined his tooth and the root canal procedure. The expert revealed that the procedure was performed incorrectly, resulting in additional expenses and prolonged pain for my brother-in-law. It is truly unfortunate that there are dentists like Dr. Bershadsky who take advantage of individuals in pain for monetary gain. In my opinion, Dr. Bershadsky lacks compassion, is unprofessionalism, unethical, and, more importantly, seems to be deficient in dental skills.

I had an excellent time going to West Valley Dental. I went there a couple weeks ago for a deep cleaning, and came in recently for my wisdom teeth removal. Both times I received amazing attention and care. I was serviced quickly, waiting in the lobby for only a few short minutes, and found the staff to be very pleasant and nice to talk to. Any and all staff who serviced me made sure to be thorough explaining medication dosage and procedures Id go through, and Dr. Bershadsky in particular made the whole experience light-hearted chatting conversation and cracking jokes. Definitely helped to warm the mood for something scary like wisdom teeth removal. Didn’t even feel them come out!

Do not go this dentist office. My first appointment there, they told me a deep cleaning wasn’t covered under my dental plan, but after speaking to my dental coverage, they told me it was. When I called back to understand why they told me the wrong information, they explained they meant the mouth wash after my deep cleaning wasn’t covered and was $200+. So I went ahead and scheduled an appointment for my deep cleaning 2 weeks ahead.

The day before my appointment they call me to tell me they’re still going to charge me $230 for the deep cleaning because it’s “not” covered by my insurance. It’s covered, they are just a shady office. Do not go here. They wasted my time.
