Reviews:
I would first like to note that I always had great dental cleaning experiences at this location. If my review were based just on dental cleaning, I would give 5 stars.

However, I also received an Invisalign consult at this location and was told I would be a good candidate. So, I went to WNY Dental’s Henrietta location where they do orthodontics for a more thorough evaluation. Upon this consult, Dr. Tina Imbriglio wanted me to receive clearance from WNY Dental’s Periodontics team before proceeding with Invisalign.

Of course, when I went for the Periodontal consult, they informed me I would have to undergo a series of two gum graft surgeries to correct some recession on the upper gums on both sides of my mouth before they would clear me for Invisalign. I really wanted Invisalign so I agreed to the surgeries. The periodontal surgical process was painful and took approximately 4-5 months to complete between surgeries and healing. Finally, I was cleared for Invisalign.

I went back to WNY Dental’s ortho group and after getting my scans done and having my trays made, had Invisalign installed in my mouth. After the first 2 weeks of wearing the Invisalign, I received a phone call from Dr. Tina Imbriglio where she stated that she was looking at my initial x-rays and noticed that I have root resorption on two of the upper teeth in my mouth and that in order to continue with Invisalign treatment, she required my consent as the resorption put me at greater risk of the teeth being “compromised”. At this point, I was very alarmed and did not give my consent over the phone so she scheduled an appointment for me to come in to discuss further.

At this appointment, I told her that I am unwilling to continue with treatment considering I am at risk of those teeth possibly falling out or worse. I also stated that I wish she had reviewed my x-rays prior to telling me I am a good candidate, taking my money, and installing Invisalign in my mouth. She backpedaled and got very snippy with me at this point because I called out her mistake. I told her that I would like the invisalign removed because at this point I am just going to get porcelain veneers somewhere else. I scheduled another appointment and had my Invisalign removed.

The practice manager, Amber (I think), never got back to me about recompense for the money I already spent on the Invisalign, but I assume they think because they sent me off with a retainer that it’s all good. I learned at the removal appointment that Dr. Imbriglio was leaving the practice and moving back to Connecticut, but I would be passed off to another orthodontist for a follow up appointment in a few months (as if I would ever let anyone at this place touch my mouth again). To top it all off, months later, a stitch that they failed to remove from my periodontal surgery erupted through my gumline and required removal.

I wouldn’t give these people a dime more and I don’t trust them at all. My personal opinion is that they do not care enough to be practicing on human beings.

I have been a Patient of WNY Dental for 23 years. Over that time I have had some excellent Dental techs and Dentists. On 3/4/24 I woke up in terrible pain from an infected molar. My regular dentist at the Jefferson Road was not available, but I needed help. I was refereed to the WNY Dental in Gates as they had openings. All of the staff were such caring professionals. One of the best dentists I have ever had the pleasurer of seeing was Dr. K .Tress. She was excellent. She saw how much pain and discomfort I was experiencing. Her Chair Side Manor was so calming and her step by step explanation of what she was going to do and how she was trying not to aggravate my tooth help to reassure me. It was determined that I need to have an extraction. She then also advised me on the best and cost effective procedure, so I was not throwing money away. She numbed me up really well to help my pain and then she took extra time to grind down the top of the bad molar so it didn’t touch my other teeth. The Tech that was assisting was also excellent , but I did not get her name. She called multiple Dentists Officers trying to get me an urgent appointment. In the end one of the WNY Offices had a cancellation and I will have the extraction in 2 days. The reception team was very helpful in looking at insurances costs at Urgent Cares compared to WNY and they also tried to get me in any office that day. In the end I can’t tell you just how much all the their efforts meant to me.
Overall not a bad practice. Very pleasant and professional staff. My children loved coming there as patients so it was with regret that today I had to pull them from the practice all together. After going back and forth for over 5 months requesting to get a breakdown of a bill to explain services provided and never receiving it or a call back I grew frustrated with getting the run around and removed them. I really didn’t understand why i had to request a bill multiple times when I should I have received one to begin with. All I was sent was letters explaining the amount owed nothing more. I didn’t know the dates of service nor which child of mine it was pertaining to. So I’m sure the insurance company was just as confused as me and probably the reason they didn’t cover it. I had to call to get clarification and then was promised someone would call back which they never did. This went on for months. I didn’t think it would be this difficult to get assistance in billing my insurance to cover a $124 bill. They were really quick to threaten me via mail to send the unpaid bill to collections though smh. I rather my children be a part of a practice that appreciate and value there patients because I definitely felt like a number.
