I have been going to Westside Dental Centre for years now, and I would highly recommend them to anybody in the Okanagan area! After moving out of West Kelowna I still make the drive to come see them for all of my cleanings and procedures. Lorenza and all the ladies at the front desk are super personable; they always remember me and greet me by name every time I come in, and remember my preferences for appointments, contact, etc. My hygienist Melissa is THE BEST and I look forward to my cleanings because of her! Not only is she gentle and super informative, but we always get to chatting about our animals and hobbies and it makes the visit go by so fast – I would go in just to sit and chat with her if I could. Dr. Poojan Rai is also the best dentist I have ever had, and probably ever will have. As someone with a long history of genetical dental issues, Dr. Poojan and her whole staff have been incredibly caring and understanding, and have been working with me to make great progress. I can not say enough good things about this clinic! The massage chairs are also a bonus!
Have been a patient for 9 years, had lots of good experiences and a few bad ones. This latest experience has been incredibly frustrating. They recommended that I see a Periodontist so I got a pre approval & went for the consultation. I wait 8 months for the apt & was told the day of that my scaling units were all used up and I had no coverage. I had to prepare for this by not drinking or eating the morning of & it was all for nothing. What was the point of me getting a pre approval if things had changed? There needs to better communication between the regular dentist & the specialist & insurance otherwise you are not helping the patient, in fact you are harming them.
Needed a simple tooth extraction and they won’t do it without a blood pressure reading. However they don’t even have the equipment needed to take a reading on obese or larger patients.
They should note on their website that they do not have equipment suitable for overweight patients. At the end of the day how much can it really cost the clinic to buy one?
