Reviews:
The Beaverton office was quick to receive me and quick to check me in and overall did a good job. The problem arose when I was having my second procedure done.

The people who were working on my tooth (tech + hygienist) we’re doing a pretty good job until someone, a third tech who apparently has a reputation for giggling in the office, came into the procedure room. As soon as she stepped into the room, the energy became very unprofessional.

Apparently this person has the nickname “Giggles”. (Per the tech) Because she giggles so much at work.

I noticed that at one point the tech asked Giggles to hand her a tool and Giggles didn’t even understand what tool she was talking about: Giggles didn’t seem to take anything seriously.
The tech that was working on my tooth either poked my face or hit my lip six or seven times With their tools (one really sharp poke on the outside of my cheek!)

They were talking and talking and talking while she was drilling and filling and I had to tell them it was too much talking (had to use hands to communicate). It was overstimulating and somewhat torturous to have somebody working in my face and then talking and talking and talking right above my face and laughing. As soon as Giggles left the room, I no longer got poked in the face with sharp tools. I said something to the tech and she told me she could put it in my chart that I’m sensitive to that talking. I’m not sensitive it’s just unprofessional.
This is not my regular office: I prefer my regular office because they are professional over there. I was scheduled in the Beaverton office because the Hillsboro office understaffed.

I like Willamette Dental Group in general. Dr Purcell is very kind, gentle and knowledgeable. He did my first procedure Perfectly. I had ZERO discomfort during or after which was surprising and very much appreciated.
I’d recommend Dr. Purcell and request not to have “Giggles” in the room.

Yesterday, on May 24, 2024, we had a strange experience with WDG. My 9-year-old son needed to have two teeth pulled. He received laughing gas and pain relief injections. Our nurse and anesthetist were super kind and patient. My son was very frightened and asked them many questions. Then Dr. Geoffrey Purcell came in. He was also nice and patient, but only for about five minutes. He then said he couldn’t work with such kids, and that we needed to make an appointment with Dr. Cat or pull the teeth at home, and then he left. It was strange that he just left us after the anesthesia had been administered.

I asked the nurse why the reception didn’t schedule us with Dr. Cat, and she said they usually try to see if the child is okay with the usual doctor. Now I understand that I need to schedule with a pediatric dentist and inform them beforehand that my child needs a special approach because he is very frightened of doctors. He had a cleaning before, and it was fine. I understand that doctors are busy and don’t want to waste their time, but it was rude and unprofessional to leave a child who had already received injections and laughing gas. He just needed a few more minutes and a bit more patience.

P.S. The clinic called me back and apologized for the incident. They offered to reorganize the visit and schedule it with doctors who are more experienced with children. I appreciate their effort to make things right and ensure my son gets the proper care he needs.

Absolutely horrible experience with this dental office. I scheduled an emergency appointment because I was experiencing pain. I completed the appointment without receiving treatment. I scheduled a follow-up appointment the following week with hopes that the provider would address some of the issues discussed during the initial appointment. I was told that I was coming to the office to take more X-rays despite them identifying the primary issues during the emergency appointment. Then I would need to come back a third time to receive treatment. Client care does not seem to be a priority. If you are experiencing dental issues, do not use this office. They will not render appropriate care.

Check the other 1 star reviews with similar issues. And the office’s generic response. Terrible.
