In 2023 my front crown cracked. I had broken my front tooth when I was 9years old and was given a metal post to hold the crown. Over the years I must have had four crowns, I am now in my 70’s. My exiting dentist was not very informative about my options and dismissive of my anxiety about loosing one of my front teeth. I was told that I could not have another crown, because the current crowns could not be used with a metal post. I also found that I was given different information each time I wanted to discuss my options. I began to do my own research and short listed three different dentists. I chose to try Wincanton Dental Practice initially because their information on each of their dentists was clear, accessible and impressive.
From my very first appointment I found the dentists I saw to be patient, understanding, very informative. Allowing me to see my scans and explaining them. Taking time to explain my different options and the cost and time needed of each possibility. I chose to have an implant, which though was the most expensive option, was more reasonable than the two other dental practices I had researched. The actual operation of taking out the remains of my old root and replacing it with an implant, was extraordinarily quick and painless. With almost no swelling or pain the following days [though I am a Homeopath and had filled myself with supporting remedies!].
It is now several months later, my new implant and tooth is so beautifully matched to my other teeth that it is not noticeably different. I have had no problems or issues and am delighted with the results.
I can not emphasise enough how well I was looked after by everyone that I came in contact with, from receptionist to dental surgeon.

Horrible experience with “fast braces”. My teeth were quite straight (I wore braces as a teenager) and only 2 of my top front teeth were crooked due to the fact that I stopped wearing my retainer after some time. The dentist there assured me that fixing this would be a matter of two months top. I ended up the braces for about nine months, and my teeth would get more and more crooked each month. Each time I was told a different story about what we were going to do to sort them out, and in the end my braces were taken off and my teeth were very crooked. I was offered “composite bonding” as a solution but instead the dentist FILED MY TEETH DOWN and just added some material on just one tooth that literally looked like play-dough! My husband was terrified when he saw the result. I spent lots of money and time here to get a horrible result that left me feeling horrible and hopeless, and I am only now leaving a review (after a year passed and I got to properly fix my teeth at another practice and literally spend THOUSANDS to rebuilt my filed down teeth). I wouldn’t recommend this place to my worst enemy!

I would like to express the brilliant service I have received at this practice. I’ve recently had a teeth straightening process, and the whole experience has been great from start to finish. George has done a fabulous job and I highly recommend him, and the results have made me happy and more confident. Sharon the receptionist has also been brilliant at sorting my appointments around my busy lifestyle. I hope I’m able to become a regular patient here as I’m now reluctant to go anywhere else.
