If I could give ZERO stars, I would. I will NEVER go back to this clinic or to Dr Cox. Since my hygienist (at another location) was on maternity leave and this clinic happens to be in my area, I thought I would try it out. The hygienist was a nightmare! The cleaning was extremely painful and bloody. I kept telling her to take it easy, but to no avail. At the end, she very casually said that a part of a filling had chipped off. I KNOW it wasn’t chipped when I went to her, but what could I say? Anyway, so I took an appointment with Dr Cox in the same clinic for the filling. There was no pain, sensitivity or discomfort, but I could feel the chip with my tongue so I thought I should get it fixed before it got worse. Dr Cox told me he had to remove the entire filling and put in a new one. I agreed to the procedure, trusting his “expertise”. He kept drilling away at the filling, so much so that it became painful despite the anasthesia and he had to give me another injection for the pain. Then he put in the new filling. The very next day, the tooth was very sensitive. Even drinking room temperature water caused shooting pain. I called Dr Cox. Without bothering to examine me again, he said I should go for a root canal. This came as a complete shock to me! From a painless, healthy tooth, to a root canal??? As the sensitivity and pain continued to increase daily, I decided to seek a second opinion. My new dentist showed me the X-ray of my tooth, and was very surprised to note that the filling was touching a nerve. She said this is normally not done. This new filling now cannot be removed because that would damage the nerve. So this is where I am now — in agonizing pain and with no recourse other than more expensive treatments to deal with it. I caution everybody to steer clear of the hygienists and Dr Cox in this dental clinic.
