Unfortunately I didn’t have a great experience when I switched to MTM. Maybe it was just bad timing. Had a tooth bothering me, had an upcoming trip. Needed the tooth looked at asap and they got me in a few days later (my first time there). They were very pleasant at the reception desk, and greeted me well. The hygienist took me back and seated me in one of the exam rooms. She was very nice and personable. The rooms and building itself is very old and is showing it’s age. Ceiling tiles non existent, light covers non existent. Vents were rusty and baseboards scuffed badly. Just needs a revamp. Anyways, the dentist came in, looked and told me I would need a deep clean on one of my molars. And that it would be vigorous so warned we would only do one side of the mouth so that its not so uncomfortable for my trip. Ok fine. That was the plan. On my way out I met the hygienist who would be doing the deep socket clean on my tooth, made the appointment for the next Monday (which would be 4 days before my trip, perfect, time to heal). So I wait and go back in Monday to get my deep clean on the one side of my mouth as planned. The hygienist brings me to the back room again, seats me and says ok so we’re going to start with your full exam. I told her about the miscommunication and that I was there for a deep clean instead and she tells me the woman who does the cleaning isn’t in. Ummm excuse me, I just got childcare and everything to be here for this appointment so she says shes sorry and brings me back to the front reception to book me in for another time. I told them my frustrations and proceeded to book for the following two weeks instead. Then fast forward to two weeks later, right before my appointment, Shannon calls. Sadly I didn’t find her very pleasant. she was inquiring about why I was only getting a clean on the one side of my mouth so obviously some miscommunication within the building. I wasn’t impressed with the whole scenario. I cancelled my appointment and told her about my frustrations and all she said was “ok, yep have a nice day” i will be going elsewhere. Bad vibes.
The dentist I’ve seen each time has been friendly as have most of the other workers there but one of the people that answers the phone is very rude. I can understand her frustration of me cancelling very last minute (I’m very sick) but she didn’t even acknowledge why I was cancelling or be like “sorry to hear that” or anything just gave me attitude and said “I can’t guarantee you’ll be charged $50” (which I’m fine with, i understand and I told her I was fine with being charged) but this isn’t the first time I’ve called and she’s been incredibly cold and unfriendly. Anyway, i get anxiety calling because I don’t want to speak with her. The other woman that answers is so nice I wish I remembered her name I would put it in.
Had an infected wisdom tooth, dentist said he is going to refer me to a dental surgeon in Belleville and I should hear from them in 1-2 days. I waited 5 weeks and called the surgeon and MTM 5 times trying to get an update. Turns out they never sent the referral, the surgeon said they never got anything from MTM with my name on it. Even after several phone calls with MTM, it still took about 2 weeks to send a second referral out. Very frustrating experience to say the least.
