Dr Toguri has retired now. She is so observant and knowledgeable, the first doctor to say there was something wrong with my teeth wearing away, caused by dry mouth from lupus, before the lupus was diagnosed. Her office was always prompt, helpful, gave reminders, and cheerfully (to me) took on extra work asking ODSP for the extra cleaning and treatments required.
When health permitted, I went from Guelph, Toronto, or Sutton to her office in Newmarket over decades. My mouth is almost all crowns, taking many visits. She even helped me over a cancer Stage 4 diagnosis and treatment.
No matter who is working in her clinic, her high standards and kindly attitude are kept. When crowns or fillings fell off, they would help in emergencies or Saturdays as I needed. Especially after many male doctors talking down to me, the all-female office is a breath of fresh air. Harder for them working around maternity leaves, but upbeat when new babies pictures to admire.
