Reviews:
Great staff. Helpfull, courteous and conciderate. But dont get anything more than emergency pain issues done here! I’ve had many nightmare situations.

The first was a woman who filled a filling too far so that the nerve was pressurized. The worst pain I’ve ever had that wouldnt end untill the tooth was opened up again. They made me get a root canal after leaving the tooth open for a week! I was charged twice for what should have been one filling and triple the cost it should have been.

Then using totally different staff I went in for slight tooth pain, was told a filling was good. Came back 1 1/2 weeks later same tooth. Was infected and i was told i needed a root canal and that the dentist had covered the original cause of the pain with part of the filling material. So they opened up the tooth to releive the pressure, charged me again and said come back in a week for a root canal which was missing the peice to go in the root.
I was charged 3 times and about double the cost for what should have been 1 root canal!

Now! Now! To top it off, both root canals have failed 6 months later! The dentist isn’t filling the root during the root canal. She is just putting the piece of metal or in my case flimsy plastic in the root of the tooth and filling above the gum line with the filler. So the tooth has no support from the lower half of the tooth like is necessary and a large air space is left for it to rot from the inside.

For people who are disabled like me and really cant afford anything better this isn’t what you want. Why pay half the cost of a normal dentist to get terrible work done in a horrible setting using sub standard practices and getting worked on by butchers! You wont save any money it will end up costing more in the end with more time suffering. The amount of money spent, and the time I spent having severe anxiety and panic attacks while getting worked on was all a waste and leads to more complications down the road. People are led to believe its a charity where people mean well but this is terrible. I’ve had dental work from my pre-teen years last until i was 45. This work is a fix for today not for tomorrow. You’ll end up having to get dentures in short order and with no choice in the matter.

So thinking you’ll get decent quality work done because of a charity paying a small amount, the low over head costs of having two dental crews working in the same room at the same time, and the location of the office and the space they are in is a mistake! Dont pay 500 for a root canal that wont last more than a few months. Borrow the money somehow and pay the 1100 to get real wok done that will last your life so you dont lose your tooth completely. I’m ashamed i believed it would be ok.

I was new patient and I didn’t have medical insurance. I had my first examination for $160 , which included a panoramic X-ray, dental X-rays, a dentist’s check-up, and an explanation of which teeth need treatment and an overall assessment of my dental situation.

I also had a cleaning (100$) done there, and it was one of the best cleanings I’ve ever received. Donna did an excellent and thorough job, explaining to me the nuances of caring for my teeth and problem areas, and she provided a consultation on proper teeth cleaning (as per my request).

I really like the people at the reception; they are very welcoming and kind. Overall, the atmosphere in the clinic is very pleasant, with kind, gentle, and responsive staff, everywhere very clean and people really care about clean inside and instruments, gloves. The appointment process, communication, and cost are all excellent! I really enjoy being at this clinic, even though it might not be located in the best part of Vancouver, the quality of service inside the clinic is top-notch.

I was fortunate to meet Dr. Kary Taylor, who is honest, patient, friendly, and eloquent! After thoroughly checking my teeth, he also spent a long time discussing the treatment plan with me. We had a wonderful and inspiring conversation! I highly appreciate his honesty and patience! For example, he honestly told me that the resolution of the X-ray might not be high enough in my dental check to make a watertight diagnosis.
I also highly appreciate the medical assistant who took multiple X-rays of me and did bookkeeping. Although I can not remember her name, she is brilliant, patient, and diligent!
All the staff were amiable! Thank you!
The price of the dental check was reasonable and may be one of the cheapest in Vancouver.
Perhaps I will visit there again to do a dental fill.
